Thousands of youth
gain skills and jobs
Through UNICEF-Germany partnership

Over 7,300 young people in Lebanon have gained practical skills, generated income, and launched businesses through UNICEF's Learning to Earning initiative, supported for more than a decade by the German Government via KfW Development Bank.
The program equips youth with literacy, numeracy, life skills, and competency-based training, bridging the gap between education and employment even amid Lebanon’s challenging economic conditions. Participants have contributed to community recovery projects—from producing winter kits for displaced families to repairing streets—while building their own livelihoods.
“Through its partnership with UNICEF, Germany has offered opportunities to thousands of youth in Lebanon over the past ten years,” said Uta Simon, Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy. Youth are Lebanon’s future. By investing in youth, we invest not only in individuals but in the country’s development.”
Marcoluigi Corsi, UNICEF Representative in Lebanon, said: “Investing in youth is central to our vision that every young person must have the agency, opportunity, and dignity to shape their own life. Our partnership with Germany empowers youth to lead, heal, and transform their communities from the ground up.”
Beyond skills and income, the initiative gives youth a voice. Events like the *Learning to Earning Youth Impact Event* connect young people with decision-makers and the private sector, making them active contributors to Lebanon’s recovery and future development.
