The Lebanese government, the European Union, Denmark, and France, through Agence Française de Développement (AFD), launched a €32 million program aimed at supporting conflict-affected areas in the South and the Bekaa Valley.

The four-year program (2026–2029) will support recovery efforts through assistance to local authorities, small businesses, sustainable agriculture and employment creation, while also addressing urgent humanitarian and stabilization needs. The initiative was initially designed following the November 2024 ceasefire and later adapted to current conditions.

The program is financed through a €24.8 million EU grant, approximately €5.35 million from Denmark and a €2 million contribution from AFD. The initiative aims to strengthen local
institutions, support economic recovery and reinforce social and economic resilience in conflict-affected regions.
